2009 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR Revealed.

Porsche has revealed its most powerful GT2-class racing car, the GT3 RSR. The capacity of the well-known six-cylinder boxer engine increased from 3.8 to 4.0-litres. After another reduction in the size of the air restrictors for the 2009 season, the engine now delivers around 450 hp (331 kW) at 7,800 revs per minute and develops a maximum torque of 430 Nm at 7,250 rpm. The rev limiter of the efficient six-cylinder unit kicks in at 9,000 rpm. Compared to the forerunner, the rev level for a given power output was significantly lowered. Thanks to this, the engine features an optimised torque curve and offers better driveability.

The RSR will leave your Turbo for dead on the track, though. Thanks to a lightweight bodyshell, it weighs about the same as a child’s shoe, and has received a whole bunch of aerodynamic revisions to make it lovely and slippery through the air.

Aside from GT3 Cup and the GT3 Cup S, the GT3 RSR is the third race car based on the Porsche 911 offered by Porsche Motorsport. About 20 of the successful long distance racers have been built in Weissach and are now being delivered to customer teams around the world. The GT3 RSR costs €380,000 (£358,217 or $493,050) plus VAT specific to each country.

It features lighting design elements borrowed from traditional interior lighting practices seen in monuments, sports facilities, and architectural buildings.

The designed concept was based on the "Automotive Lighting Sculpture" in which the exterior surfaces integrate an artificial lighting system which makes the car silhouette recognizable at night. This system makes use of hidden lighting, where the source is not visible. The exterior is more recognizable at night and in the dark, reducing chances of mishap. The impressive exteriors of the body have hidden light sources, light from these sources follows the curves and lines on the surface, creating an unobtrusive effect for the viewer.

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Wrapped in Gold at the ‘Bling on Wheels Dubai Show’

This is Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG which has been wrapped in gold at the ‘Bling on Wheels Show’ in Dubai, United Arab EmiratesThere is some debate as to whether this is a real paint job or a wrap, but parking your gold-wrapped C63 next to a genuinely chrome SLR would be shamefully ludicrous. A C63 AMG goes for about 300,000 AED (about $82,000 USD). Unless gold paint bubbles out of the ground as well, a liquid gold paint job has to cost a good portion of that.
